Drawing a profile of someone is a task that requires specific academic knowledge, essential for a correct and credible identification of the individual.

Criminology arises from the need to not attribute the motivation of the subject who commits a crime, solely because of biologically, hereditary or pathological characteristics of the person.

This Social Science, joins three mainly subjects: Jurisprudence, social Sciences and Psychology, which complement each other and try to give a more objective justification of how and why a person is motivated to have a criminal conduct.*

For that an in-depth investigation about crucial factors that influence the individual, focused in all the biography, social behaviour that includes habits, customs, ways of interacting with different problems and people, it is necessary in this matter where the subject reacts in a certain way when has the opportunity in front of him to become a delinquent.

Finally, will be decisive the role of law to fight against crime with measures such as punishment and prevention.

Graphology in Europe is not yet a recognized Science in its totally, but it’s beginning to have an increasingly important presence as complementary to Criminology, due to that, mostly in South America, is considered an independent science that are determinant to blame someone in a trial, analysing the identity, profile or veracity of writings and signatures, using its own scientific methods.

Forensic document examination is an indispensable and necessary tool in the police forces or other organizations that need to verify the truthfulness of official and identity documents, signatures in cheques, identifying possible forgeries; the same happens with brands.
